I think a big reason we've built such a strong and steady friendship is because we've never spent one minute judging each others ways of coping. Maybe I shouldn't sleep with boys before I know their last name and maybe she should take a breath in between boyfriends but these are our scars and we don't.
We don't ask each other why, we don't point out poor decisions made or speak to the unhealthy nature of our habits. We just wait patiently with open arms until the other needs to fall. I think that is what big love looks like, walking through someone's issues with them, not to try and change anything, but just to help hold them up.
