Baltimore on my mind.
My heart feels so heavy it's hard to even write about it.
The country is being deceived and therefore further divided. The media is showing only the ugly, desperate, violent riots and calling no attention to the many peaceful protesters and those helping on the streets.  The media is making black people of poverty into characters to be put into a box by everyone privileged enough to be watching on TV. The media is using it's angle to reinforce the 'thug' notion and almost nothing hurts my heart harder.

However, we must not turn a blind eye, there are horribly violent riots going on the city of Baltimore because a black man was brutally killed by the police, again.  The question is not, are the riots justified? They're not. The question is, who is responsible? The answer is everyone. These riots are REactions to many years of deep pain, to being suppressed and feared at the same time, to living everyday knowing your brother could be killed by a supposed protector of society who will never be held accountable.

No, it's never okay to burn, loot or steal but we must look at the larger issue.  They are reacting to a murder. A murder they *knew* would come based solely on their addressees. Who is the worse criminal, the killer or the noise maker? It's simply a cry for help and I'm dying to react.
